Sharing your campaign is one of the most important things you can do after you publish it. The more people who see your campaign, the more likely you are to reach your fundraising goal. Do Donate makes it easy to spread the word across social media, email, and anywhere else your audience gathers — every share puts your story in front of potential new donors. Every campaign has a unique, shareable URL that you can copy and send anywhere. To find it:
  1. Open your campaign page.
  2. Click the Share button near the top of the page.
  3. Select Copy Link to copy the URL to your clipboard.
You can now paste this link into a message, email, social media post, or any other channel you choose.

Sharing on social media

Your campaign page includes built-in share buttons for the most popular social platforms. Click the relevant button to open a pre-filled post you can customise before sharing:
  • Facebook — Share directly to your timeline or to a group. A preview card with your campaign title and cover image is generated automatically.
  • Twitter / X — Post a tweet with your campaign link. Consider adding relevant hashtags to help people outside your network discover your campaign.
  • Instagram — Copy your campaign link and paste it into your Instagram bio or share it in a Story using the link sticker for the most visibility.
  • WhatsApp — Send your campaign link directly to individuals or broadcast it to groups. WhatsApp outreach is especially effective for reaching close friends and family quickly.

Sharing via email

A well-written email to people who know you personally can be one of your most effective fundraising tools. When reaching out by email, keep these tips in mind:
  • Write a personal subject line — Use your own name or a specific detail about your cause rather than a generic phrase.
  • Keep it concise — Briefly explain what you’re raising money for, how much you need, and why it matters.
  • Include your campaign link prominently — Make it easy for the reader to click through without having to search for it.
  • Ask directly — Don’t be afraid to specifically ask the recipient to donate or to share your campaign with someone who might be able to help.
  • Follow up — A gentle reminder a week later can significantly increase the number of responses you receive.
Personal outreach — direct messages or emails to friends and family — typically drives the most donations early on. Starting with your inner circle creates early momentum that makes your campaign more credible to new visitors.

Embedding on a website

If you run a website, blog, or community page, you can embed your Do Donate campaign directly so visitors can see your progress without leaving your site. To get your embed code:
  1. Open your campaign page and click Share.
  2. Select Embed from the share options.
  3. Copy the embed code snippet provided.
  4. Paste the code into the HTML of your website where you want the campaign widget to appear.
The embedded widget displays your campaign title, goal progress, and a link to donate — and it updates automatically as donations come in.
